Whatever it may be, diecast cars, trains, books, magazines, sports memorabilia, trading cards, antiques, or a myriad of other things, be assured that SOMEONE is collecting it. One might wonder,m why that is. Well, in the example of diecast cars, maybe for us men, it's because we can't afford to collect so many of the real things, but we certainly can afford to collect much more of the smaller, less-expensive diecast replicas of our favorite vehicles.
When it comes to sports, maybe it's becuase we happen to be great sports fans of one particular sport or many assorted sports, or maybe it's because in our dreams we would like to be one of those well-known sports figures ourselves.
When it comes to books, magazines, comic books, etc., it might be because we want to remember the old-time favorites we had when we were kids, or it might be one way for us to hedge against inflation. The reasons that people have for why the collect stuff are probably as varieds as the stuff that people collect.
I like trains maybe because as a child my grandmother's house was right by the very busy Erie-Lackawanna railroad and trains were going by all day and all night. Now, trains going by there are rare................maybe only a few in a month. But, I still have fond memories of those days and I like to have thing around that remind me of those times.
